Privacy Policy

This page explains what Vision Clipping collects when you visit this site, why we collect it, and how to have it removed. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

Two things, and they are separate.

1. Site analytics. Every page load sends a small record to our own server. It contains a randomly generated visitor ID, the page you are on, the site you arrived from (your referrer), and any campaign tags in the link. Our server also records the approximate country and device type your request came from, derived from your IP address. We do not store your raw IP address alongside this record.

2. Link attribution. We publish short-form clips across social platforms, and the links in those posts carry a click ID. If you arrive through one, we keep that ID so that when you later book a call we can tell which clip or profile actually brought you. That is the entire purpose. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not shared with advertising platforms.

What we store in your browser

We do not set cookies. We use your browser's local storage, which behaves similarly but is never transmitted automatically with your requests:

• vx_vid — a random visitor ID. It is not derived from anything about you, and it is not linked to your name or email unless you choose to book a call.
• vx_cid — the click ID from a tracked link, kept for 30 days, then ignored.

You can clear both at any time through your browser's "clear site data" setting, and nothing on the site will break.

What we do not do

We think this matters more than the list above:

• No Meta pixel, no Google Analytics, no TikTok pixel, no advertising or remarketing tags of any kind.
• No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
• No sharing your data so another company can advertise to you.
• No attempt to identify you personally from your browsing. We only know who you are if you tell us.

If that changes — for example if we begin running paid advertising and need a conversion pixel — we will update this page and say so plainly before it goes live.

When you book a call

Our booking form is hosted by Typeform, and the details you enter there — typically your name, email, company and what you need — are processed by Typeform on our behalf and stored in our systems. We use them to contact you about working together. We do not add you to unrelated marketing lists.

If you arrived through a tracked link, the click ID travels with your submission so we know which clip earned the conversation.

Other services this site touches

• Google Fonts — serves the typefaces. Your IP address is visible to Google as part of loading them.
• YouTube — some pages embed videos. Where we can, we use YouTube's no-cookie player. Playing a video means YouTube receives your request directly.
• GitHub Pages — hosts this site and processes requests to serve it.

These companies have their own privacy policies, which govern what they do with what they receive.

How long we keep things

• Click IDs in your browser: 30 days.
• Analytics records on our server: kept while they are useful for understanding which content works, then deleted.
• Booking enquiries: kept for as long as we are in contact, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@j-visionmedia.com and we will action it — we will not make you fill in a form to be forgotten.

You can also stop the analytics beacon entirely with any standard content blocker, or by disabling JavaScript. The site works either way.

Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
